AS9100: The Standards for Quality Management in the Aviation, Space, and Defense Industries & ISO 9001:2015 Standards
The aerospace industry has unique requirements for quality management, which is why many companies that deliver products and services within the aviation, space, and defense spheres choose to become AS9100 certified. This Quality Management standard “sets on top of” the ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard and sets the requirements that are specific to the aerospace and defense industries.
The ISO (International Standards Organization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. This organization promotes the adoption of a process approach during development, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a quality management system, and enhancing customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.
Years ago, we decided to become a process-based organization, allowing us to focus on consistently meeting the requirements and specifications of our customers while, at the same time, enhancing customer satisfaction. By implementing a quality management system, we are able to repeatedly deliver market-leading value to our customers. Garland Service Company’s quality management system is certified by PRI to be in compliance with the AS9100 standards, which include the ISO 9001: 2015 requirements.
ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
Garland Service Company is also ITAR registered through the United States Department of State, allowing us to handle export controlled items or technical data as defined by the Arms Export Control Act. All of our processes ensure that your items or technical data that may be subject to export control restrictions are protected as required by law.
DLIS (Defense Logistics Information Service)
GSC holds a DLIS certification under the U.S./Canada Joint Certification Program. This gives us the ability to handle military critical technical data as required by our customers.
